United Boeing 737-800 at Portland, smoke in cockpit

A United Boeing 737-800, registration N76514 performing flight UA-766 from San Francisco,CA to Portland,OR (USA), was on final approach to Portland’s runway 10L still in contact with approach control when the crew reported smoke in the cockpit adding subsequently that the right hand engine (CFM56) was damaged. The aircraft was handed off to tower, continued for a safe landing on runway 10L, vacated the runway via a high speed turn off and stopped. The crew then indicated that both engines had been damaged and requested emergency services to check both engines out. The FAA reported the aircraft received minor damage when wing (singular) and engines (plural) struck birds. Has your flight been delayed or cancelled recently?
