Smoke in the cockpit of Transavia France flight forces emergency landing

A Transavia France Boeing 737-800, registration F-HTVY performing flight TO-8098 from Paris Orly (France) to Sfax (Tunisia), was enroute at FL390 about 80nm west of Lyon (France) when the crew decided to divert to Lyon reporting smoke in the cockpit. The aircraft landed safely on Lyon’s runway 35L about 23 minutes after leaving FL390, emergency services checked the aircraft.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Lyon about 22 hours after landing.

The airline reported a technical problem, the passengers were taken to hotels and are going to continue their journey the following day.

Airport Emergency services reported they deployed due to smoke in the cockpit.
